Blend of angels

Poem by Roger Descombes of fifteen lines describing angels that one can associate with a number of engravings by the artist figuring fabulous celestial beings.
Translation into English by Louise, October 2012.

Blend of angels

Jumble of sages

As well as fools

Made of soft feathers or shiny pewter

Gathered together in the depot for the excluded

By decree for acts against innocence

Think, think and bind

Only you can bring us a shroud

To cover the shame

of ourselves

And take us

To narrow tombs

Towards rest.

Alone.
